What country are you?

This is the same 24-statement quiz with a more playful result: instead of 'your most compatible country', you get a headline like 'You are Portugal'. Behind it is the same comparison of your answers with approximate profiles of 60 countries across 12 axes, so the result still comes with reasons. It's a light way to see which country's mix of values and lifestyle looks most like yours, and an easy one to share.

Some country personalities

Rather than describing countries as stereotypes, it is more useful to think in terms of axis positions. Plenty of countries can fit each of these types, and your exact result depends on all 12 axes.

The calm independent leans toward a calm, small-town pace, work-life balance, individual independence and a reserved social style. They like quiet, personal space and time that is their own. The big-city career type leans toward big-city buzz, career intensity and a high-income, high-cost setting, and is happy to trade calm for opportunity and energy.

The warm communal type leans warm on climate, expressive on social style and toward close family and community ties, with a lower cost of living. Life happens with other people, often outside. The open-minded changemaker sits toward social change, a global focus and environment-first on the values axes, and their lifestyle answers decide which of several countries with those values they land on.

How your answers become a country personality

Each of your answers moves your score on one axis from its middle point of 50 toward one pole or the other. After 24 answers you have a position on 12 axes, a profile that looks just like a country's profile. The country whose profile sits closest to yours becomes 'your' country.

The Why you match panel shows the three axes where you are most alike and the one where you differ most, so 'You are Portugal' comes with an explanation rather than a guess. The 12-bar axis chart lets you compare your personality with each of your top 5 side by side.

Why your country can change

Your country personality is a snapshot of how you answered today. Neutral answers keep you near the middle of an axis, so a few firmer answers on a retake can move you to a different country. The values/lifestyle slider matters too: slide toward lifestyle and you may become a different country from the one you get when values count more. Neither result is the 'real' one; together they show which parts of you each country reflects.

Questions, answered

Is this a real personality test?

No. It is not a psychometric test and makes no scientific claims about personality. It is a fun quiz that compares your stated preferences with approximate country profiles.

Why did I get a country I've never visited?

The quiz compares positions on 12 axes, not places you know. A country you have never been to can still sit closest to your answers. Open its profile in the tool to read its one-line reason on each axis and its three nearest countries.

Can I share the result?

Yes. Download a share image drawn on your device, copy a link that reopens your exact results on this page, or use your phone's share menu. The link carries your answers inside it, so only people you send it to can see them.
